In the bitcoin world, you have 3 choices. You can buy them with cash. You can sell them for cash. You can spend them. Once you spend them, you have to either buy more or figure out a way to earn them. If you can't figure out a way to earn them, then bitcoins are just like gift certificates. Once the cash is used to buy them, it is as good as spent. You might just as well spend hard cash since you'd have a wider selection of things or services to buy. So the problem becomes how do you earn them? How, indeed? Presumably you already are occupied in a hard cash earning vocation. So really, the only way to earn them is in some hastily conceived sideline that requires little work. So whatever you can buy with bitcoins is some lazy joker's contrivance to get bitcoins out of your pocket and into his. Sounds like Wall Street. The only real source of wealth is what we take out of the earth or transform by labor into something else. Everything else derives from that, including bitcoins. Our economy is stagnant because we have lost manufacturing market share to other countries that don't have the high cost of advanced civility.
