Project Description:   Front Porch Renovation

Restore existing porch roof and existing porch posts.
Remove existing porch floor and ceiling.
Reinforce existing roof.
New porch ceiling and hangers.
Replace existing railing.
Remove existing porch foundation if any.
Layed up stone and mortar perimeter wall.
New fieldstone and concrete porch floor.


1. Shore up perimeter of porch roof 4x4 and 5x5 posts at each existing porch post.
2. Shore up center of porch roof with 4x4 posts
3. Sister 2x4 rough cuts to existing 2x4 center porch rafters
4. Shore up under center roof rafters with 4x4 posts.
5. Demolish existing porch floor, foundation, front step, railings, ceiling and hangers. 
6. clear and excavate
7. lay up new stone and mortar perimeter wall.
8. Fill with stone and concrete to height
9. cover with fieldstone and mortar porch floor. Single 4" step in front.
10. install restored posts
11. install new front header.
12. 2nd sister 2x6 roof rafters tied to front header
13. install new wooden railing. 36" height 3.5" spacing.
14. repair trim
15. install french drain along front
16. prime and paint
