The space as we understand it is not worth $3000/month. So the tenant must be considering the space differently. He has a picture in his mind of the space which includes the hall and part of the bathroom and sidewalk and a nice big sign saying come in. To him, the residential space is subserviant to the retail. To us, the retail is subservient to the residential. In my mind, he bought a small store and a large bathroom which can double as storage. He is trying to connect the two. I don't want people in the hallway. I don't want merchandise in the hallway. I don't want to see his name in the hallway. I don't want to see his name or logo on my home. Who engineered this vision? The broker? Praveen? The tenant? Yes, I know he has a problem with the retail space but ITS NOT OUR PROBLEM. If we begin to make it our problem in any way shape or form, we cast the die for generations to come. The boundaries are laid out by the documents. Thats all he gets. Paint the hall? How about beeds? How about televisions? How about music? What kind of tile? Who decides? This tenant? The next tenant or the tenant after that? What about when you relocate and rent out your space? Who decides then? Who decides when you get old or get sick? I'm sorry if I sound resistant, If we let him sign the lease, and the tenant puts in shelves or other obstacles, who's problem is it? The fire department will go after the condo. We will pay and bill him for tickets. Did you see the photos of the merchandise? He is putting us on notice that he wants to sell
